PERSONAL TRAINER

Hello, Coach Emma here!

I am a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Animal Flow L1 Instructor with a background in Holistic Personal Training, Nutrition Coaching, Athletic Mobility and the instruction of several specialized Group classes, ranging from Yoga and Pilates, to Spinning and TRX. I also like to consider myself to be a specialist in understanding and helping people, whilst educating them on how to correct, transform, and most importantly, appreciate their bodies – and loving the journey from start to finish!

Admittedly, my own journey has not always been the smoothest, and I have had my own fair share of struggles along the way. Growing up in South Africa, we were encouraged to spend time outdoors and be active, so sports such as tennis, cricket and football took up most of my afternoons. But once I left the nest and ventured into the big wide world, things changed as ‘life happened’.

With the best of intentions, I took matters into my own hands, and went from one extreme to the next. From not caring at all about my health and appearance to becoming totally obsessed, and finally achieving an actual healthy balance. Since then, I have been determined to shift the focus of everyone else who approaches fitness, from not only wanting to lose weight, but rather to gaining functional strength, overall fitness, a healthy relationship with food and exercise, and of course self confidence! It’s what I did, and it both changed and saved my life.

My approach and philosophy is simple – you don’t have to work out every single day to get in shape. You don’t have to starve yourself or give up the foods you love eating. You don’t have to sacrifice your social life or mental health for the sake of your physical appearance. Giving up what you enjoy is the quickest way to ensure all your efforts will backfire. You need a suitable workout plan to follow, a nutrition plan that is mostly nutritious and of course satisfying, and most essentially – consistency!

Some people can manage all three alone, and others cannot. I was one of them. But with the help of my personal trainer, and years of theoretical, scientific, practical and personal experience, I am now equipped to help guide and support others in whatever ways they may need, be it physical, emotional, or psychological! Not only to realize goals, but to achieve them, maintain them, and be even better than ever before imagined.
